Watercoloring with Lindy's shakers

Let me share with you a card I made for my Lindy's gang DT. This is a step by step tutorial using the new magical shakers for stamp coloring. 

Let’s see how I made my project!

First, I stamped on watercolor paper and I embossed with Purely white powder.

I took a small amount of Magical powders out from the new shakers and I mixed it with water to have some rich color to use.

For the flowers, I used Magnolia Magenta gold and Alpine ice rose. Petal by petal, I wet my paper and colored the stamp with the darkest shade first with taking care to let the color blend into my paper with water.

While still wet, I came back with my second color.

Don’t put too much ink and let the paper react to have different shades.

I did the same with my leaves this time using Cathedral pines green and a tiny bit of California poppy gold and Time travel teal to vary my green shade.

For my background, I put some gray on my acrylic block and I stamped my watercolor paper over it. Here I used I’m late, I’m late slate and Gag me with a spoon gray sprays.

Here’s my final result!

This is a simple technique that makes stunning effects! Don’t hesitate to try it your own!

Mini challenge MTW January

This month's inspiration word is to me an easy peasy one at More than words! 

Here's my card, yes a card!!!! 

I used the new Afternoon delight denim magical shaker from Lindy's for my background!

Ombre card

Here's an ombre technique I used to make a card for the Lindy's blog.

I’ve used Flat Fabio sprays but you can easily use Starbursts if you wish!  Just go with your favorite matching colors. I stamped the background with a flower and I embossed it with white powder, before spraying, but it’s up to you, and you can skip this part if you wish. The result will be gorgeous anyways!

So to get the ombre look you want, it’s important to use watercolor cardstock. I use the Strathmore 140 lbs but the brand is up to you. Just choose a good watercolor card as it will help to get the colors to blend together.

I began by stamping and embossing with Purely white from the Lindy’s store.

To create the ombre effect, I chose 4 colors that mix well, and make a beautiful gradient look.

Starting with the Flat fabio Hibiscus Rose I blended it with a lot of water and the next pink tone Flat fabio Chateau Rose. Wash your brush and start with the pale yellow Flat Fabio Bonjour butter, make it blend just a bit with the pink and apply the darker yellow on the top, the Flat fabio Pineapple Paradise.  You can see exactly how I did this in the video at the end of this post.

Look at the fabulous result you get once dry.

Festival SAP

Voilà le festival de Scrap aux Puces est terminé et j'ai réussi à participer plus que je ne l'aurais cru! Merci les vacances de mon chéri! 

En plus j'ai eu la belle surprise de gagner un prix dans la section défis Cartes et d'avoir un coup de coeur pour un défi photo! C'est la première fois que je gagne quelque chose! yééé!

Je n'aime pas faire des cartes, y'a rien à faire je n'y prend pas de plaisir! Mais une fois de temps en temps je dois comme toute scrappeuse qui se respecte me plier à ce supplice...

Cette fois-ci en plus c'était pour la bonne cause puisque c'était une commande, donc payant LOL
